Universal Pixels Deploys Panasonic Auto Framing for Oasis Reunion Tour

News Image
Universal Pixels has selected Panasonic's Advanced Auto Framing Software (AFS) to power the live visuals for the highly anticipated Oasis Live '25 reunion tour.

By integrating the AI-powered plug-in with six Panasonic AW-UE150 PTZ cameras, the production team successfully automated subject and face detection, maintaining precise framing as band members moved dynamically across the stage. This software-led approach significantly reduced operator workloads and fatigue, allowing the technical team to focus on creative direction while ensuring flawless, high-definition broadcast coverage throughout the 41-date global tour.

Reducing Operator Workload in Live Touring
With multiple band members moving freely across large stages, Universal Pixels configured up to 20 custom framing presets per performer. This enabled Panasonic's PTZ cameras to automatically adjust pan, tilt and zoom in real-time as performers moved around the stage. This significantly reduces the need for constant manual intervention. Furthermore, the UE150's advanced light sensor ensured stable image performance under rapidly changing lighting conditions.

With Universal Pixels also utilising two Panasonic AK-UC4000 4K studio cameras for continuously tracking both Noel and Liam Gallagher, AFS provided cut-away shots of other band members. Perfectly framed at all times, this allows a single operator to manage multiple PTZ cameras more efficiently, reducing operator fatigue.

Seamless Camera Integration
Panasonic's PTZ and studio cameras integrated seamlessly within the touring workflow, enabling operators to maintain consistent image quality during live switching. Thanks to shared control protocols, operators could use a single Remote Operation Panel to manage both PTZ and studio cameras – streamlining overall setup and operations regardless of the venue.

James Morden, Technical Specialist at Universal Pixels, comments: "Panasonic's Auto Framing Software is a fantastic tool for touring productions, particularly when working with band members that love to wander around the stage. It saves valuable time during performances, with directors able to focus on specific band members, with operators only needing to make small adjustments. Panasonic's UE150 PTZ cameras are also exceptionally reliable; they still perform as if they're brand new on every show."

Real-Time Colour Grading on Stadium Tours
Universal Pixels has also utilised Panasonic's AK-UCX100 4K studio cameras on Robbie Williams' ongoing Britpop Tour. It uses V-Log colour grading workflows to maintain natural skin tones and consistent visuals in real-time, across challenging outdoor lighting conditions.
