V-Nova To Showcase DTV+ Rollout, LCEVC Momentum And AI Video

News Image
V-Nova will return to NAB Show 2026 with a slate of live demonstrations spanning broadcast, streaming, AI and immersive XR, underscoring real-world deployment of MPEG-5 LCEVC in Brazil's DTV+ (TV 3.0) and rapid progress across its partner ecosystem and AI video pipelines.

A focal point of the company’s presence is DTV+ (TV 3.0), billed as the most advanced broadcast standard and the first to formally embed MPEG-5 LCEVC. With live commercial services now commencing in Brazil, the standard offers a practical route for broadcasters and streamers to move to IP delivery while raising video quality, enabling immersive audio and introducing interactive services within existing spectrum. V-Nova will illustrate the complete chain in action—from encoding and transmission to chipset integration and consumer devices.

At booth W1646 and W1647, visitors will see end-to-end DTV+ and LCEVC workflows, including UHD HDR delivery at sub-10 Mbps, highlighting how LCEVC lifts picture quality while improving bandwidth efficiency.

The company will also spotlight AI acceleration with NVIDIA, following two recent NVIDIA developer blogs that show how SMPTE VC-6 speeds up GPU-based vision AI pipelines. Leveraging NVIDIA CUDA, optimised decoding and batch processing boost throughput and cut latency to enable scalable, real-time analysis of high-resolution visual data.

Ecosystem traction will be on display with demonstrations from Harmonic and Realtek, plus broad LCEVC support in widely used open-source projects such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, dash.js and Shaka Player—simplifying integration for developers and platforms.

Further exhibits include AI pipelines powered by SMPTE VC-6. The VC-6 AI Blueprint shows how hierarchical, structured visual data can feed AI directly, enabling selective access to a single stream for simultaneous multi-model inference. In real-time semantic tasks, this approach reduces latency and AI processing by 5x and data transfers by up to 20x.

In collaboration with swXtch.io, V-Nova will demonstrate cloud-based AI workflows where multiple inference services can tap visual data instantly, trimming compute and bandwidth while delivering real-time insights for broadcast, security and live events.

For immersive media, cinematic six-degrees-of-freedom XR experiences using V-Nova PresenZ will be streamed with LCEVC and accelerated by NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs, NVENC, NVDEC and the Video Codec SDK.

Together, these demonstrations reflect a wider transition: One video workflow that flexes across broadcast, streaming, AI and XR without duplication or reprocessing. By enabling selective retrieval and processing, V-Nova’s formats lower I/O, compute, memory bandwidth and latency—supporting more scalable, cost-effective and accurate applications across delivery and AI pipelines.
