GatesAir Expands Global Services Team

News Image
GatesAir has strengthened its Global Services organization with two new engineering hires as it prepares for NAB Show 2026.

Scott Vince joined the company on February 23, with Chris Abbott set to follow on April 20. Both will serve as Service Support Engineers, focusing on supporting customers of the company’s AirWatch365 service.

The appointments come as GatesAir continues to expand its global support capabilities for broadcasters, covering traditional RF systems, IP-based infrastructure and new service models. AirWatch365, a managed service offering, is scheduled to debut globally at the event.

Vince brings experience in broadcast engineering and RF systems, most recently working as an RF Transmitter Engineer with Hearst Television. His background includes maintaining transmitters, managing IP-based networks and ensuring regulatory compliance, alongside earlier experience in high-reliability environments such as avionics operations.

Abbott joins with a strong background in broadcast engineering leadership and network operations. He previously served as a Senior Broadcast Engineer at Vertical Bridge and held a leadership role at iHeartMedia, where he oversaw large-scale monitoring and 24/7 support operations.
Brent Whelan, Vice President of Global Services at GatesAir, said the hires would enhance the company’s ability to support customers across a range of environments.

"We are excited to welcome Scott and Chris to the GatesAir team," said Whelan. "Scott's deep hands-on experience with RF transmission systems and field operations, combined with Chris's leadership in network operations and large-scale monitoring environments, enhances our ability to support customers wherever they are — whether on-site, remotely, or across complex multi-site networks. Both bring a practical, solutions-oriented mindset that aligns well with how we serve our customers."

In their roles, Vince and Abbott will support technical troubleshooting, system optimisation, remote support and field service delivery. GatesAir said their combined expertise will also contribute to the continued development of its service offerings, including AirWatch365, as the company looks to deliver long-term value for broadcast customers worldwide.
