LTN Unveils IP Network Upgrades

News Image
LTN has announced a series of enhancements to its global IP video network, as broadcasters accelerate the transition away from traditional satellite distribution models.

The upgrades, revealed ahead of NAB Show 2026, are designed to support growing demand for broadcast-grade IP solutions amid increasing pressure on C-band satellite capacity.

With US federal spectrum auctions expected to reallocate up to 180 MHz of C-band capacity for 5G services before July 2027, broadcasters are facing mounting challenges in maintaining reliable satellite distribution. LTN said its latest innovations are aimed at providing a more resilient and scalable IP-based alternative.

The enhancements focus on improving reliability, operational visibility, deployment flexibility and overall network performance, reflecting the evolving needs of broadcasters expanding their IP distribution strategies.

"We are continuing to invest in the areas that drive clear value for major networks and broadcasters – resilience, visibility, scale and cost control," said Malik Khan, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of LTN. "As the C-band spectrum auction approaches, broadcasters are looking for certainty and measurable performance. We’re seeing unprecedented momentum and are innovating to ensure we continue to deliver the market's leading reliable and intelligent distribution platform. For our customers, this means they can unlock new growth opportunities while also driving meaningful cost efficiencies."

Among the key updates, LTN is enhancing network reliability through technologies such as Adaptive Multicarrier Rapid Error Recovery, hitless switching and last-mile improvements, building on its existing high-availability service levels.

The company is also expanding monitoring and analytics capabilities, offering improved visibility into service health and content performance through features such as historical performance tracking, enhanced source monitoring and broader API integrations.

To support wider deployment, LTN has introduced new gateway options capable of handling both large-scale channel lineups and smaller affiliate requirements, alongside efforts to integrate its network access directly into third-party edge devices.

The company confirmed partnerships with manufacturers including MediaKind, Harmonic, Appear and Ateme, with integrations set to be demonstrated publicly for the first time at NAB 2026.

Further improvements include enhanced control and orchestration tools, enabling broadcasters to manage complex, hybrid distribution networks through a single interface while reducing manual workflows.

LTN said it has already delivered large-scale satellite-to-IP migrations for major organisations, including Tennis Channel, TelevisaUnivision and MSG, and reported a 200% increase in its IP distribution footprint in 2025.

The company now supports more than 80 million hours of live video annually, including millions of hours of live news and sporting events, as the industry continues its shift toward IP-based delivery.
