Manifold Joins NEP Platform
Manifold Technologies has announced a new partnership with NEP Group, integrating its software-defined media processing platform, manifold CLOUD, into NEP's recently launched orchestration system, NEP Platform.
The announcement will be formally presented at NAB Show 2026.
Through this collaboration, manifold CLOUD will be available as a deployable application within NEP Platform, allowing broadcasters and rights holders to dynamically access FPGA-accelerated services—including multiviewing, UDX conversion, and graphics—across NEP’s global infrastructure of mobile units, flypacks, and production facilities.
NEP Platform introduces a new model for live production by replacing fixed, function-specific hardware systems with a flexible orchestration layer. This system enables trusted third-party broadcast applications to run on shared commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) compute environments. It also automates deployment processes such as system bring-up, scaling, and tear-down, while providing real-time telemetry for monitoring performance and usage.
The integration aligns closely with manifold’s core design philosophy. Manifold CLOUD was built to separate media processing from proprietary hardware, instead leveraging FPGA accelerator cards from multiple vendors on COTS infrastructure. The platform delivers broadcast-grade performance with deterministic output and subframe latency, while maintaining the flexibility associated with cloud-native systems.
Within NEP Platform, manifold joins a broader ecosystem of media technology providers, enabling production teams to deploy and scale applications dynamically based on event requirements. This approach allows users to configure workflows quickly and adjust resources in real time.
The joint solution will be demonstrated at NAB Show 2026 in NEP's meeting space and at manifold's booth. Attendees will be able to interact with the NEP Platform interface, select manifold’s application, and observe its deployment onto shared compute resources. Once active, the system will appear as a virtual device within NEP’s orchestration layer, allowing operators to configure and execute live production workflows in minutes.
The demonstration highlights a wider industry transition toward software-defined production models. For manifold, the partnership represents an opportunity to validate its approach to FPGA-accelerated processing within large-scale, real-world production environments, combining flexibility and scalability with the reliability traditionally associated with dedicated hardware systems.
"Collaboration with our partners, including arkona and manifold, has been instrumental in turning the vision of NEP Platform into a practical reality," said Dan Murphy, VP of NEP Platform. "Manifold's FPGA-accelerated infrastructure harnesses the flexibility of COTS and software-defined processing capabilities with the power of hardware acceleration. This architecture combines deterministic performance with the scalability and agility modern productions demand. It is exactly this kind of partnership that enables us to deliver next-generation broadcast workflows for our customers worldwide."
