Tightrope Media Systems Unveils Cablecast LiveBridge
Tightrope Media Systems has announced the launch of Cablecast LiveBridge, a new cloud-based streaming service designed to simplify the management of simultaneous live events for government and community broadcasters.
The solution will be showcased at the NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, where the company plans to demonstrate how the platform supports live streaming for overlapping events with reduced operational complexity.
Cablecast LiveBridge is aimed at municipal, public, educational and government (PEG) channels that often face the challenge of covering multiple live meetings with limited cable channel capacity. Traditionally, broadcasters have relied on third-party streaming platforms for overflow coverage, which can disrupt established workflows such as recording, metadata management and archiving.
The new service enables users to send live feeds via encoders or OBS-based workflows directly into LiveBridge, which then prepares the content for web and OTT delivery. Streams can be distributed through Cablecast apps and internet channels, while recordings are automatically captured and reintegrated into Cablecast systems for seamless management.
"Cablecast LiveBridge helps solve the problem of covering multiple live meetings when you only have one channel," said JJ Parker, co-founder and CEO of Tightrope Media Systems. "Now, you can stream that second meeting to websites and streaming apps while keeping the content within Cablecast. That means you don't lose your replay scheduling or archiving workflows, so you keep manual steps to a minimal after the extra meeting ends."
The platform also supports simulcasting to external services such as YouTube while maintaining Cablecast as the central system for recording and content management, helping reduce manual processes and tool fragmentation.
Cablecast LiveBridge is expected to be available in summer 2026 for existing Cablecast users running the latest version of the software.
