Audiomovers Launches UNSUNG Season 2

News Image
Audiomovers has announced the return of its UNSUNG podcast series, with season two set to premiere on 26 March, spotlighting the producers and engineers behind some of the world’s most influential music.

Part of the Abbey Road Studios family, Audiomovers continues the series' focus on the often-overlooked creative and technical talent shaping major recordings. The new season builds on the success of its debut, which attracted nearly half a million views and featured high-profile contributors including Nile Rodgers, Alan Meyerson, Raphaëlle Thibaut, Stuart White and BT.

Season two will continue to deliver practical, session-level insights into the creative decisions, technical processes and collaboration behind finished records. The lineup includes a mix of established and contemporary figures such as Bainz, Vance Powell, Chuck Ainlay and Michael Romanowski, with additional guests to be announced.

Across the season, the featured work spans chart-topping artists including Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Travis Scott, Chris Stapleton and Young Thug, alongside landmark films such as The Lord of the Rings and Black Swan. The series also reflects on recordings by iconic artists including Ray Charles, Paul McCartney, George Michael and The White Stripes.

The season premiere features Rafa Sardina, a 19-time Grammy® and Latin Grammy® winner known for his work with Dr. Dre, D’Angelo, Lady Gaga, Alejandro Sanz and Luis Miguel.

In the opening episode, Sardina shares insights from real recording sessions, including how he layered strings recorded at home to achieve orchestral scale on Black Messiah. He also reflects on recording entirely to tape with Dr. Dre, challenging traditional views on recording formats. "People get stuck on analog versus digital, but for me it’s analog plus digital," he said. "Mixing isn't just about the technical side — you have to learn so much about people,” he explained. "If someone asks for more bass, my first question is: why? What are you trying to make the listener feel? Because if it doesn't make you feel the right thing, it doesn’t matter how great it sounds."
