Miris Launches Public Beta Of 3D Asset Streaming Platform
Miris has announced the launch of a public beta for its new 3D asset streaming platform, aimed at delivering high-quality 3D content at internet scale.
The platform is designed as a managed service, allowing content owners to upload 3D assets and stream them instantly to any device without the need for large downloads or intensive hardware. The company says the technology could support a wide range of applications, including retail product configurators, architectural visualisation, digital twins and interactive shopping experiences.
Unlike traditional approaches that rely on rendering pixels via GPU infrastructure or transferring full asset files, Miris uses adaptive spatial streaming. This method delivers only the necessary geometric and texture data in real time, enabling faster load times and more efficient scaling.
The company said its system can achieve sub-second load times, even for large and complex 3D models, while maintaining high visual fidelity and reducing infrastructure costs.
"Until now, companies had to choose between visual quality and cost at scale. We eliminated that choice," said Sean Looper, CTO, Miris. "Miris is a fundamentally different approach that eliminates tradeoffs for developers. We’re excited to open the public beta and kickstart the future of 3D asset delivery."
At launch, the beta platform includes features such as rapid loading for large assets, real-time delivery without heavy client-side downloads, and the ability to scale without per-user GPU requirements.
Developers participating in the beta can test the platform using sample assets or their own content, with self-service tools and documentation available to support integration.
