Rohde & Schwarz To Unveil Future-Ready EMC Testing Solutions

News Image
Rohde & Schwarz will take part in EMV 2026, Europe's leading trade fair and congress for electromagnetic compatibility, in Cologne from 24–26 March.

The company will present new test and measurement innovations aimed at tackling shifting EMC challenges, using the event's platform to engage with industry specialists.

Across sectors including power electronics, consumer, industrial, automotive, Satcom, military and wireless communications, the company will demonstrate a broad portfolio designed to streamline and optimise EMC processes. With the RF spectrum growing more crowded and technologies such as AI, 6G and quantum computing introducing fresh complexity, as well as electrification and higher bandwidths pushing towards higher-frequency testing, Rohde & Schwarz is focusing on scalable, modular solutions that deliver repeatable, reliable results and narrow the gap between field performance and laboratory measurements.

For conducted and radiated emissions, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase the R&S EPL1001 and R&S EPL1007 EMI test receivers, spanning up to 1 GHz and 7.125 GHz respectively. The platform enables users to choose configurations suited to efficient pre-compliance checks or fully CISPR 16-1-1 compliant certification.

A speed‑optimised EMI test setup will be demonstrated using the R&S ESW test receiver with the ESW‑B1000R 970 MHz bandwidth option and automated R&S ELEKTRA software. A live demo will illustrate rapid, detailed device characterisation with 3D emission plots for a typical commercial test. The R&S HF1444G14 high‑gain antenna extends capabilities up to 44 GHz to support standards such as MIL‑STD and FCC.

The company is also expanding the R&S BBA300 broadband amplifier family with the dual‑band R&S BBA300‑CDE/FG series covering 380 MHz to 13 or 18 GHz, and the R&S BBA300‑DE1000 delivering up to 1000 W from 1 GHz to 6 GHz. High linearity, continuous ultra‑wide bands and advanced protection concepts are designed to meet current and future EMC immunity testing needs.

Automotive full vehicle antenna test (FVAT) capabilities will be on show, addressing the growing number of in‑vehicle antennas for GNSS, Wi‑Fi and cellular services such as C‑V2X. Comprehensive FVAT helps manufacturers and suppliers characterise radiation performance, verify RF robustness, ensure coexistence of multiple wireless systems and validate connectivity‑enabled functions and services.

For in‑depth signal analysis, the R&S MXO 3 Series oscilloscope will be featured, offering an acquisition rate exceeding 4.5 million waveforms per second and up to eight channels. With a very fast FFT and zone trigger as standard, it supports swift, precise EMI troubleshooting and design optimisation by revealing complex circuit behaviour.

Rohde & Schwarz will also contribute to the congress programme with technical sessions, workshops and demos on EMI test speed optimisation, EMC for medical products and closed‑loop reverberation chamber testing. A panel discussion will examine AI’s influence on EMC, exploring present advantages, future challenges and potential new vulnerabilities from a testing and development perspective.

Visitors can find Rohde & Schwarz in Hall 10.2, Booth 306, where Technical Sales and Service specialists will be available to discuss specific EMC testing requirements.
