Telestream Unveils UP
Telestream has expanded its Cloud Services portfolio with the launch of UP, a cloud‑native platform designed to handle Global Ingest, orchestration, review and real‑time monitoring across hybrid and distributed production environments.
The move extends the company's offering beyond high‑scale cloud processing and hybrid workflow extension to address the operational demands of IP‑based media production.
As media organisations grapple with cost pressures, fragmented audiences and geographically dispersed teams, cloud adoption continues to accelerate in varied ways. Some providers are evolving existing, trusted workflows into elastic cloud infrastructure, while others are building cloud‑first pipelines from scratch. UP advances Telestream's goal of a unified Global Ingest strategy spanning live, camera card and file‑based sources. By combining cloud capture and monitoring with system‑aware metadata, technical teams can gain precision, flexibility and speed regardless of format, source or operating model.
"Media companies are modernising in different ways and at different speeds" said Charlie Dunn, Executive Vice President, Products, Telestream. "Some are evolving established infrastructure. Others are launching fully cloud-native operations. Our approach is to give customers flexible options, whether they're scaling global processing, extending existing workflows, or operating real-time production entirely in the cloud. With UP, we're expanding our cloud services to address the operational layer of that transformation."
The broader Telestream Cloud Services line‑up now comprises three distinct offerings: UP, a modular, cloud‑native operational layer for ingest, orchestration, review and monitoring; EDC (formerly known as Encoding.com), which delivers API‑first media processing at scale; and Vantage Cloud, which brings existing Vantage workflows into cloud environments for hybrid operations.
UP extends the portfolio into cloud‑native operational control, supporting ingest, workflow automation, collaborative review and live signal monitoring for distributed production.
EDC provides highly parallel, API‑driven AI analysis, transcoding, QC, captioning and audio processing for OTT platforms, FAST channels and global distributors. Built for elastic scalability, it enables high‑throughput media processing without customers needing to manage infrastructure.
Vantage Cloud lets Vantage users extend trusted workflows into the cloud, adding burst capacity, geographic flexibility and hybrid deployment options without re‑architecting established pipelines.
At launch, UP brings together several components: UP.Capture for elastic live and file‑based ingest across multi‑source, fast‑turnaround productions; UP.Review for proxyless playback and annotation with growing‑file support to speed editorial decisions; UP.Workflow for low‑code automation across ingest, QC, AI tasks, captioning and delivery; UP.Lens for cloud‑native multiviewer monitoring and smart alerts for SRT and other live contribution feeds; and UP.Ingest for professional camera card and file‑based ingest suited to sport, news and mobile production.
UP can be deployed as a managed SaaS, within a customer‑controlled cloud environment, or linked to on‑premises infrastructure, enabling modernisation without discarding existing systems.
"For nearly three decades, Telestream has helped the industry navigate major technology shifts," said Benjamin Desbois, Chief Growth and Strategy Officer at Telestream. "With UP and our expanded Cloud Services portfolio, we're giving customers the freedom to modernize on their terms, connecting Global Ingest, automation, and monitoring into a unified operational layer that's ready for wherever their workflows need to run next."
