Telestream Teams Up With Mimir

Telestream has unveiled a new integration with Mimir, the cloud-native media collaboration and production platform, to streamline ingest, processing and editorial workflows for modern news, sport and broadcast operations.

Debuting at NAB 2026 (Telestream booth W1503; Mimir booth N2850), the tie-up connects Telestream's Vantage and Live Capture systems with Mimir's asset management environment via open REST APIs and full support for Mimir's metadata model. The approach is designed to remove ingest bottlenecks by ensuring material arrives with the context and structure needed for immediate search, collaboration and editorial use across cloud and hybrid deployments.

Through automated normalisation, metadata enrichment, quality control and processing, incoming media becomes instantly usable in Mimir without extra steps or reprocessing. Edit-while-ingest support also lets teams begin working on growing files as they are captured.

"This integration ensures that content is ready to use the moment it enters the editorial workflow, whether it’s coming from the field or a live feed. By combining automated processing with flexible cloud and hybrid deployment models, we're removing friction and helping teams move faster without changing how they operate. This is a significant advantage, especially for fast-paced sport and news productions," said Richard Andes, Vice President of Product Management at Telestream.

"Too often, 'integration' still means extra steps and workarounds. What matters here is that Telestream and Mimir together can turn ingest into the start of editorial – not a bottleneck before it. When content is production-ready the moment it arrives, teams can move faster, stay aligned, and keep momentum through the most time-critical workflows, whether they're operating in the cloud, on-prem, or across both," added Steinar Søreide, Chief Technology Officer, Mimir

Bringing together Telestream's Global Ingest automation with Mimir's collaborative cloud platform, the solution supports centralised and distributed production models, accelerating the path from acquisition to editorial use.

As Telestream extends Global Ingest, UP.Ingest enables camera card and file-based contributions to be processed directly in the cloud, while UP.Capture adds cloud-native SRT ingest for live feeds. Together they promote a distributed, cloud-first production strategy anchored in structured metadata, automation and production-readiness.

The combined solution supports fully cloud-based and hybrid configurations, allowing broadcasters to augment on-premises infrastructure with cloud resources while retaining operational control and cost oversight.

For file-based workflows, Telestream Vantage can automatically normalise incoming content into formats supported by Mimir, enrich assets with metadata and AI-generated information, handle processing, transcoding and quality control, and deliver media directly into the Mimir environment.

For live production, Telestream Live Capture enables direct contribution of feeds into Mimir as they are recorded. Sources can include SRT, SDI, ST 2110 and IP, with content recorded and uploaded to Mimir storage, then registered with metadata and proxies for immediate editorial access.

The integration particularly benefits reporter-driven and MMJ workflows. Telestream pipelines conform camera formats, add metadata and contextual information, and deliver assets straight to Mimir so field contributions are ready for instant editorial use, reducing friction between capture and production.
