Alfalite NEOPIX Makes Broadcast Debut At Spain's RTVE

Spain's national public broadcaster RTVE has upgraded one of its principal television production studios in Madrid with the installation of two Alfalite NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED displays, marking the first deployment of NEOPIX technology in a broadcast setting.

The project includes a 7 x 2-metre curved LED wall and a secondary 9 x 1-metre display, both custom-built to support the daily demands of news, current affairs and interview programming. The screens now form the main visual backdrop for a range of RTVE productions.

The installation was carried out in partnership with Datos Media Technologies, reinforcing Alfalite’s footprint within one of Spain’s most significant audiovisual production hubs.

Both displays are part of Alfalite's premium NEOPIX LED family, designed for critical applications requiring high image consistency, reliability and long-term performance. With a 1.5 mm pixel pitch, the screens are optimised for close-viewing broadcast environments where accurate visual reproduction is essential.

The project also marks the broadcast debut of MATIX AlfaCOB, Alfalite’s proprietary Chip-on-Board technology, which improves LED protection, enhances visual uniformity and thermal performance, and delivers a more robust and serviceable surface for intensive studio use.

The latest upgrade builds on a relationship that began in 2021, when Alfalite first supplied LED solutions to RTVE as part of a wider modernisation initiative. In 2023, that programme expanded to include the deployment of 964 ModularPix Pro 1.9 ORIM LED modules across RTVE’s Madrid facilities and regional centres, again integrated by Datos Media Technologies.

With the adoption of NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB, RTVE continues to modernise its visual infrastructure using LED technologies designed and manufactured in Europe.
