CCL software offers breakthrough in cross-platform support

Colem Communications (CCL), specialists in the supply of control solutions for satellite communications, can now offer support across all standard off-the-shelf automation platforms, it has emerged.
CCL has developed powerful multi-automation software which allows it to mix and match across off-the-shelf automation products to meet the specialised needs of satellite communications companies.
The initiative is designed to give customers serious choice and greater flexibility in building the control systems that really suit their requirements. The ability to use a range of off-the-shelf products, such as iFIX and RSView, brings a unique level of standardisation to the industry, CCL said.
Martin Coleman, Managing Director of CCL, stated: "I'm sure that our multi-automation infrastructure software is unique, and we are the first to offer comprehensive support for control systems, regardless of how they are made up. It's a powerful combination: standardising the communications industry and giving customers complete freedom of choice."
CCL can combine both standard Windows 2000 and XP platforms with Windows CE and is embedding control applications using both Windows XP and CE.
The company is currently developing an OPC Driver Pack which can be ported onto a Windows CE platform allowing full Server/SCADA functionality on industrial standard CE machines as well as small PCs and PDAs and other 'lightweight' solutions using the Windows CE operating system.
CCL boasts over 20 years of specialist knowledge in a number of application areas including satellite earth stations and their operation, monitoring and process control and telecommunications.
