LSC Control Systems Appoints Hugh McDonald As R&D Manager
LSC Control Systems has appointed Hugh McDonald as R&D Manager / Senior Software Engineer, as the Australian manufacturer continues to expand its research and development capabilities.
McDonald joins the company with extensive experience in software engineering and project management across the technology sector. Most recently, he worked in systems engineering and product development at Beam Communications, Australia's satellite communications systems manufacturer. Before that, he spent 18 years at NEC Corporation in a range of software engineering and project management roles.
The appointment is part of LSC's continued investment in product development as it looks to build on more than four decades of innovation in power and control technologies.
Commenting on the appointment, LSC Founder and CEO Gary Pritchard said: "LSC has built its reputation over more than 45 years through innovative thinking, leading to the design of market-leading products. Our success is down to an exceptional R&D team, incorporating feedback and insights from all areas of the business."
He added: "As we consider the next chapter in the LSC story, we have identified the need to further strengthen our software development resources and that includes having an R&D manager with experience of steering the development of high-tech products for much larger corporations. We warmly welcome Hugh to the team in what is an important leadership role within LSC Control Systems."
The appointment follows LSC Control Systems' acquisition by Robe Lighting s.r.o. in 2024, with the company continuing to invest in its engineering and product development resources as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
