Hiltron Reports Growing Demand Across Broadcast and Telecoms Sectors
Following a strong 45th anniversary year in 2024, Hiltron is reporting sustained and increasing demand for its extensive catalogue of satellite communication equipment, systems integration, and product distribution services throughout 2025. This surge in projects has spanned diverse markets, including broadcasting, security, and general telecommunications.
First exhibited at IBC 2024 in Amsterdam, Hiltron's HMAM-XY motorized antenna mount became fully deliverable in 2025. Among first customers was a European research organisation which purchased an HMAM-XY equipped with a 2.4 meter parabolic reflector for installation on the roof of its headquarters in southern Germany. The mount is being used in a variety of satcom-related test environments.
Based on 15 years of development since the introduction of the original HMAM, HMAM-XY is equipped to perform high precision tracking of LEO and MEO satellites, smallsat constellations and flying objects such as drones. It combines fast tracking speed, rapid acceleration, high pointing and tracking accuracy with low backlash, and full hemispheric coverage with no zenith keyholes.
HMAM-related projects also during 2025 included Hiltron’s choice as technology partner in the construction, delivery and integration of offset batwing satellite antennas for monitoring the performance of newly launched satellites at various sites around the world. Each incorporates a Hiltron-developed fully steerable multiband receive/transmit antenna system with a 3.8 meter reflector plus a Hiltron HMAM motorized antenna mount. Hiltron recommended and integrated Challenger Communications batwing reflectors, chosen for their long focal length and excellent sidelobe rejection. The system is controlled by a Hiltron HACU antenna control unit which includes true-angle indicators that allow far greater positioning stability than commercial-grade actuator devices. A 4U Hiltron HACUX-IDU remote control panel incorporated into each installation allows all parameters of the HACU to be accessed via an integral touchscreen with a browser-style display.
Exhibition-related activities in the course of the year included the 27-28 February GovSatCom in Luxembourg, 24-26 March GoSatCom in Munich, 12-15 September International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam and 18-20 November Space Tech Expo Europe in Bremen. Hiltron promoted its full range of own-design satcom equipment at all four events, including HMAM-XY, the HMAM-PM motorized polar-mount antenna, HACU antenna control unit, HRMU redundancy & monitoring unit, HDCU de-icing control unit and HMCS-MCR monitoring & control system. Space Tech Expo Europe proved particularly useful as a catalyst for dialog with new and existing customers from the satcom sector at its widest.
