Sky News Partners With Arc XP

Sky News has announced a new partnership with Arc XP, the content platform and media operating system created by The Washington Post, as part of its Sky News 2030 transformation strategy.

The collaboration will support the development of a faster, more intelligent and more agile platform, reinforcing Sky News's ambition to become a premium, video-first newsroom built for a digital-first world.

Sky News 2030 is a five-year transformation programme designed to address the rapid evolution of the media landscape, as emerging technologies and changing audience behaviours reshape how news is discovered and consumed. The initiative aims to deliver high-impact, video-led journalism that audiences actively choose to engage with, on the platforms they already use.

With artificial intelligence accelerating changes in how news is found, produced and shared, Arc XP will provide Sky News with the tools and expertise needed to stay at the forefront of innovation. Drawing on a strong track record — including powering The Washington Post’s Ask the Post AI chatbot — Arc XP’s technology and strategic vision will form the backbone of the partnership.

Together, Sky News and Arc XP will explore new ways for audiences to discover and engage with trusted Sky News journalism. One of the first initiatives under development is AI-powered search, which aims to provide a more intuitive and conversational way for users to find the stories that matter to them.

This is one part of a broader Sky News AI strategy under the 2030 banner. Sky News sees AI as an opportunity to enhance journalism — supporting its reporters, improving audience experiences, and strengthening British journalism as a whole. In an era defined by misinformation and AI-generated content, the need for accurate, impartial, and high-quality journalism has never been greater.

As audiences change how they search for and consume information, Sky News intends to meet them where they are, working with partners such as ArcXP to offer AI features that are trustworthy, transparent, and built on verified journalism.

Andrew Thomson, Sky News Executive Director Business Operations said: "As technology continues to change how audiences find and engage with news, we want to make sure Sky News remains the trusted destination for verified, high-quality journalism with premium customer experiences. Arc XP brings world-class expertise and technology that will help us accelerate that vision."
