Wise Owl Films To Take Centre Stage At RTS Yorkshire Event

Leeds-based production company Wise Owl Films, known for working with music legends including Bruce Springsteen and Blondie, will take centre stage at a Royal Television Society (RTS) Yorkshire event in Leeds on 12 November, where the team will discuss the making of their acclaimed BBC Two series When the Legends Came to Britain.

The award-winning documentary brand explores the UK's enduring love affair with global music icons, featuring episodes dedicated to Bob Marley, Nirvana, Motown, Tina Turner, ABBA, Blondie, and Bruce Springsteen.

At the upcoming event, producers from Wise Owl Films will appear on stage at The Record Plant, Farsley, to discuss the creative process, challenges, and memorable moments behind the series' production.

Executive Producer Mark Robinson teased what audiences can expect from the discussion: "Just how did Bruce Springsteen end up with a box of Yorkshire tea bags and crumbly biscuits when we interviewed him at his home?
"What was it like filming on stage with Blondie in front of 100,000 people at Glastonbury?
"And what happened when it looked like our Tina Turner film would have to be scrapped halfway through production?
"All these production secrets and more will be shared in an evening which we hope will be a revelatory celebration of a brand which it has been an absolute privilege for the team at Wise Owl in Leeds to produce.
"We have got to travel the world, meet our musical heroes, and find out just what Britain really means to these icons of rock and pop – as well as what they have meant to us, through talking to dedicated fans with extraordinary stories to share."
