DirectOut Announces The RAV.IO And RAV.SRC.IO 256 Channel-Mode Upgrade

News Image
DirectOut is announcing the RAV.IO and RAV.SRC.IO 256 channel-mode upgrade and the NMOS Out-of-Band (NMOS OOB) network functionality upgrade at NAB 2025.

For the first time in the USA, DirectOut will also offer visitors the opportunity to view the brand new Dual Network Audio Modules.

256ch mode for RAV.(SRC.)IO
The new mode will double the capacity of the network audio module. The module-bound license upgrade means that licenses can be installed on multiple host devices and will automatically activate only when the licensed RAV.SRC.IO or RAV.IO module is inserted. This increases the flexibility and performance of the RAVENNA stack, being able to max out physical limits, while saving budget for increasing demands.

DirectOut's HD SRC is also available on board RAV.SRC.IO, ensuring seamless operation across clock boundaries while maintaining signal integrity with just one millisecond of latency.

NMOS Out-Of-Band (OOB)
Another addition to the DirectOut licenses is the NMOS OOB service. For many years, RAV.IO and RAV.SRC.IO modules have supported NMOS standards IS-04 and IS-05 for device discovery, registration and stream connection. By adding the NMOS OOB license to the PRODIGY or MAVEN.A, additional access to the NMOS stack via the management network interface of the host device is granted. This allows the system designer to integrate node discovery and stream configuration in a separate control network that is independent of the media network.

Dual Network Audio (DNA) Modules
Building on the successful launch at ISE earlier in the year, DirectOut will also showcase the DNA Modules. These modules enhance the flexibility and interoperability of the PRODIGY and MAVEN ranges with a variety of protocol options including, Dante, Milan, Ravenna and SoundGrid. Each module can either double network capacity or convert seamlessly between network protocols. The DANTE.DANTE modules offer two interfaces with 64 channels each, delivering two isolated networks or doubling a single network to 128 channels, while the DANTE.RAV.SCR.IO module can seamlessly convert between both Dante and Ravenna networks. This functionality is applied across the whole range of modules offering bi-directional sample rate conversion as standard.

To speak with the DirectOut team and find out more about these upgrades, plus view the brand-new Dual Network Audio Modules, visit them at Stand #N975 (Joseph Electronics).
