ITV SPORT CHANNEL GOES LIVE

On August 11, the ITV Sport Channel went live and televised sport in the U.K now has a new player.
The channel gives football fans what they want, 135 live matches and exclusive football programmes. Nationwide League supporters will get the kind of coverage they have never enjoyed before. The UEFA Champions League also features heavily with 40 live clashes and highlights shows, and the Worthington Cup makes up what is a winning line-up.
The Channel opened up with a big clash on Saturday evening as Manchester City took on Watford at Maine Road. Gianluca Vialli takes his new outfit up North as Kevin Keegan makes his return to football management.
Live football coverage on the channel will be enhanced by a number of outstanding innovations including the introduction of Hawk-Eye. Already used by Channel 4 to judge lbw decisions in their award winning cricket coverage, the missile tracking technology will now be employed to solve the constant debates on off-side and line decisions.
Also a new interactive service on all Nationwide, Champions League and Worthington cup games means viewers can keep up-to-date with all the other fixtures taking place that night as well as other features designed to keep viewers in-the-know.
