Panasonic 25p mini-DV camcorders to launch at Video Forum

This year at Video Forum on Stand 650 Panasonic Broadcast will be launching the eagerly awaited 25p mini-DV camcorders, the AG-DVX100 as well as the AJ-SDX900 which is switchable between 25/50 Mbps and supports both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
Ian Lowe, General Manager UK Sales said: "The introduction of these new camcorders highlights Panasonic's evolutionary strategy of building towards an HD future. The 25p capability will allow footage to be shot for HD productions and for use with film, alongside the powerful standard definition features of both cameras. We see an evolving requirement for HD production at different sectors and different price points in the marketplace. These new cameras will broaden the creative opportunities in the film, broadcast, news, commercials, streaming and corporate communities."
The AG-DVX100 includes newly developed 1/3" progressive-scan 480,000-pixel 3-CCDs. These deliver more than 500 lines of horizontal resolution, low smear and flare, a low light performance of 3 lux (at +18dB) and a high sensitivity of f 11 at 2000 lux. The DV camcorder is switchable between widescreen and 4:3 aspect ratios.
The AJ-SDX900 DVCPRO50 camcorder has a wide-ranging production capability. This includes production at 25 and 50Mbps, supports both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, and is the very first broadcast-grade standard-definition field production camera/recorder to offer 25p.
Other camcorders on show include the DV-based AG-DVC200 and the DVCPRO 16:9 / 4:3 switchable AJ-D610, offering the professional the widest choice of acquisition formats, for applications ranging from corporate video and news making to the highest quality dramas.
Panasonic Broadcast will also launch the world's first portable mini-DV VTR with 3.5" LCD monitor, the AG-DV1DC, alongside a range of VTRs that include the AJ-D455 providing both playback and recording in DV and DVCPRO formats and the new AJ-SD955 and AJ-SD930 studio VTRs.
Completing the line-up of products on display at Video Forum, Panasonic Broadcast will also be showing the AG-MX70 digital AV mixer as well as multi cameras AW-E300, AW-E600 and AW-E800. Display products include the award-winning 42" plasmas and projectors.
