WDBX Makes Clear Choice With Broadcast Electronics

Broadcast Electronics, part of the Elenos Group, a global leader in designing and manufacturing broadcast products, including transmitters for TV, AM, FM, HD Radio® and media software has a long history of providing rapid, high-quality service to their customers.

Recently, WDBX FM 91.1 located in Carbondale, IL upgraded their FM transmitter to an Elenos ETG3500 to find a stronger signal and better sound for their unique and diverse community radio programing for Southern Illinois.

"When it was time to replace our aging transmitter, we shopped around quite a bit on medium power compact transmitters," said James Helfrich, Operations Manager with WDBX 91. "For the performance, support, and price, I would highly recommend this unit and Broadcaster Electronics."
"Set-up was a breeze," Helfrich continued. "In this first summer of operation, we experienced an average of 30% or more in energy saving from unit operation and associated reduction in cooling cost. Paired with a new Inovonics 272 processor, our signal is stronger and has never sounded so good."

All Elenos ETG line of transmitters employ several unique features that deliver high efficiency and long-term, reliable operation. All circuit boards have a special coating, coupled with an aluminum chassis, to protect from corrosion and deliver longevity. Redundant fans ensure ample air flow for cool operations, and the exclusive lifeXtender® control algorithm keeps the transmitter operating at the highest safe power level even in the event of total fan failure.

"We could not be happier with our new Elenos ETG3500 FM transmitter here at WDBX 91.1. From beginning to end, the process of purchasing through installation and operation has been effortless. The staff at BE, and in particular Ben Marth, the salesman have been outstanding in support, even taking the extra step of hand delivering the unit to us," Helfrich concluded.
