Cablecast To Provide Live Coverage Of 2023 Hometown Media Awards

Cablecast Community Media, a division of Tightrope Media Systems, is to provide live coverage of the 2023 Hometown Media Awards on June 28 on Hometown TV, a new public internet channel being launched through the Cablecast Streaming App.

The Hometown Media Awards ceremony is part of the Alliance for Community Media 2023 Conference, which runs June 27-29 at BRIC Media Arts in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The annual awards program of the Foundation of the ACM, the Hometown Media Awards promotes and honors standout producers in community media and community radio who utilize Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) access channels to get their message to their local community. All award winners have been invited by Cablecast, the Celebration Sponsor of this year's awards program, to add their videos to the new Hometown TV channel.

Nearly 1,000 entries are submitted to the HMA program each year, resulting in more than 100 award winners. A panel of industry judges evaluates the entries, and awards are presented to the most creative programs that move viewers to experience television in a different way. Proceeds from the awards program will go to the ACM Foundation, which is exclusively used for facilitating, preserving, and promoting education in community media.
