NEP Group Invests In PHABRIX Rx 2000 Rasterizers

News Image
PHABRIX has announced that NEP Group made a significant investment in its top-of-the-range Rx 2000 rasterizers to support its broadcast of professional football in the United States.

U.S.-based NEP purchased more than 30 of the advanced analyzer/generator units, which were supplied in three batches and are to be used for testing signals from broadcast trucks and other on-site systems at football stadiums.

Residing at the apex of the Rx Series, the Rx 2000 offers up to 4 channels of 2K/3G/HD/SD-SDI video/audio analysis and monitoring (dual inputs per analyzer) and can also provide signal generation. Up to 16 instruments can be presented simultaneously for video analysis and eye/jitter testing via an external display, while monitoring of the instruments and video can be performed using dual built-in screens and audio speakers.

The impetus for NEP’s purchase was the need to verify and validate signals during the company’s work covering games across the country. As well as enabling the quick and effective generation and testing of signals from central points in the operational systems, the rasterizers provide a wealth of accurate feedback to broadcast engineers and operational personnel on-site at each game.

Scott Nardelli, Senior Vice President - Integrated Solutions, NEP U.S. Broadcast Services, commented: "Systems utilized by the league for game day operations are critical and support officiating, injury, coaching and other aspects, and therefore must be fully operational on the day. Having the appropriate test equipment on-site at each of the locations is imperative to achieving that goal of 100% uptime and no disruption of game operations. We were already familiar with the capabilities of PHABRIX equipment and are confident that the rasterizers will be beneficial to our production for the broadcasts."

Among the benefits of using the Rx 2000s are more accurate troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues, and the ability to reduce costs by resolving issues more quickly when technicians are on-site.

"Football games are consistently among the most-watched sports events in America and around the world, so it’s a huge honor that our Rx 2000 rasterizers were chosen by NEP to test and verify signals at venues across the US," said Phillip Adams, founder and CEO of PHABRIX. "NEP's investment in more than 30 units confirms their confidence in the capabilities of the rasterizers and the PHABRIX brand itself. We are delighted that our technology added a further level of reliability aiding NEP’s ability to support the broadcasters and content creators of this much-loved league."
