EAGLE ENTERS THE VIRTUAL WORLD

EAGLE Research have announced a unique approach to the virtual world - V-ART - a static, cost effective virtual set.
Using pattern recognition, developed by Eagle Research, V-ART is a static, 3-camera solution for the broadcasters and production studios that want to adopt virtual set technology.
Easy to install, price competitive and interfacing to popular packages like 3ds max, V-ART is the intelligent alternative to standard set design. Your studio is not limited to any virtual configuration, and your cameras do not require expensive robotic heads or lens drives.
Building on the philosophy of a simple and different approach, the V-ART methodology enables the virtual world to become real. During a live event, the Director and cameraman work in parallel to achieve the effect. The Director selects the shot and explains his requirements. When the angle is achieved, the cameraman sends a signal to the V-ART system (by pressing a remote button), automatically grabbing one camera frame. Utilising the pattern recognition technology, all camera settings are assembled and with the Image Server's help (holding a large number of pre-rendered images of the virtual set from all camera positions), the background image of the virtual set is placed. The system, using the internal double Chroma/Luma Keyer, mixes the camera input with the selected background image and the final composed video signal is ready for on-air production. This entire process takes less than a second and is possible from any of the three cameras simultaneously.
The V-ART system is currently being used for talk shows and news and is gaining the reputation of being able to create superior sets. Quality comes as standard - realistic output, raytraced, radiosity rendered - all via a static camera. V-ART is a simple VR system for the broadcasters and producers that want a superior look and feel for their programs. The flexibility and simplicity of being static - you can move any cameras not being used on-air - as well as the benefit of not having to purchase additional equipment, gives V-ART the competitive edge.
