Magewell Wins 'Best Of Show' Award

News Image
The flexible Pro Convert Audio DX multi-format IP audio encoder, decoder, and capture device from Magewell was honoured as a Mix "Best of Show" Award winner at the ISE 2023 exhibition in Barcelona.

The new hardware lets users easily convert audio between Dante®, NDI®, and SRT technologies while seamlessly bridging analog audio, software and IP networks.

Magewell's first product with integrated Dante support, Pro Convert Audio DX can send and receive up to eight channels of audio in unicast or multicast Dante 'flows.' The device also supports uncompressed audio using the popular NDI® media-over-IP technology, or compressed AAC audio using the low-latency SRT protocol. By converting between Dante, NDI®, and SRT, Pro Convert Audio DX enables mixed-technology AV-over-IP and production workflows that combine products supporting different standards and formats.

Future PLC's Mix is dedicated to covering the length and breadth of the professional audio community. Mix has been the industry-leading news source for pro audio, recording, live sound, production and post-production since 1977. Future's "Best of Show" awards recognise and celebrate the very best products being demonstrated at ISE, one of the largest professional AV and technology shows each year. Judges are experts in their product categories and remain anonymous to exhibitors. Products are judged based on feature set, innovation, perceived value and ease of use, with winners deemed to be standouts within their sector.

The awards' editorial team commented that "ISE seems to grow in popularity and attendance each year and with that, the competition in our awards becomes even fiercer. This year, we received a record amount of entries which means that those who won should be extremely proud of their achievement -- their product showed true innovation and hugely impressed out judging panel."

In addition to conversion, Pro Convert Audio DX can encode analog audio into Dante, NDI® or SRT streams as an 'on-ramp' to IP networks, and can decode IP audio streams in any of these formats and protocols for analog output. It can also serve as an audio capture device when connected via USB to a computer. UAC compatibility provides plug-and-play ease of use and immediate compatibility with popular video conferencing, streaming, and production software.

"We are thrilled to receive a Best of Show award from Mix," said Amy Zhou, Sales Director at Magewell. "Our goal was to create a solution that enables integrators and AV professionals to select the best audio products for their workflows regardless of which IP audio technology each supports. Our video innovations have frequently earned industry acclaim, and we're excited to receive our first similar accolade in the audio domain."
