MATTHEW Tims, Two Way TV Managing Director UK, has taken over responsibility for the company’s global interests, reporting to Chairman Bill Andrewes.
The promotion follows the decision by Simon Cornwell, Two Way TV’s current Chief Executive, to return to the challenge of start-up businesses with UK venture capital firm Amadeus Capital Partners.
However, Cornwell, a founder director of Two Way TV, will continue in a non-executive role focused on the company’s technology strategy.
Other senior management changes include promotions for Jean de Fougerolles to Commercial Director and Tracy Munro to Deputy Commercial Director.
Tims said: “Two Way TV have evolved into a fully-fledged business with a compelling product. Simon will shed his operational commitments but will carry on in a strategic role. Simon has lived and breathed Two Way TV for ten years and I am glad we will still have the benefit of his counsel.”
Cornwell said: “It’s been hugely rewarding to see Two Way TV go from a technical diagram to a revenue-generating business with millions of viewers. Matthew was one of the first people to join the company after its foundation. He has done a superb job building and managing the team and has played a major role in shaping the vision behind Two Way TV. I am delighted the board offered him this role.”
Cornwell founded Two Way TV with Bill Andrewes in 1992 with the aim of developing an enhanced interactive television system that enables viewers to join in with their favourite game shows and sports events as they are broadcast.
Two Way TV are now on digital cable, satellite and terrestrial networks in the UK, Australia, Europe, Israel and shortly in the US. Sky Sports is soon to launch live enhanced interactive sports programming created by Two Way TV on Sky Digital – a world first. (CD)
