VIDFILM ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF A NEW COMPANY

VIDFILM International Digital, one of the leading full-service audio and video post production houses, have announced the formation of a new company – Vidfilm International Digital Subtitling (VIDSubtitling).
The company will offer translation and subtitling services in over 50 European and Asian languages for digital cinema, theatrical release, television broadcast and DVD providers.
VIDSubtitling brings a formidable synergy of talent and services to the subtitling marketplace. Managing Director Jonathan Lewis, formerly head of the European Captioning Institute, will oversee the company from their West End London headquarters in coordination with a new Los Angeles production centre located within the Vidfilm facility complex in Glendale.
The Los Angeles office will be headed by Robert Hansen, a veteran subtitling and captioning executive, who will provide local customer support and operations management to major Hollywood studios.
Lewis feels that Vidfilm's international facilities network is a perfect fit with the new company's subtitling expertise.
He said: "Customers who have worked with our subtitling group and also with Vidfilm will be able to take advantage of a significantly streamlined post production process. For example, we can create the subtitles for a film or digital cinema theatrical release and then re-purpose the files for broadcast, VOD and DVD distribution, all under one roof. We can manage the translation, duplication, file conversion, DVD conforming and emulation without any of the assets ever having to be in the hands of a courier or freight company."
