Drawmer and Mercenary reunite on new product

Drawmer have announced an all-new product to emerge from the company’s ongoing collaboration with Mercenary Audio - the 1968 Mercenary Edition.
The 1968 Mercenary Edition is a 1U Tube/FET stereo bus compressor designed to deliver a transparent ‘wide open’ sound even during periods of heavy compression both in true stereo or dual mono mode. Featured on each channel is a switchable BIG mode which applies less processing to the fundamental low frequency but still disciplines the upward associated harmonics which if untamed can result in a ‘boomy’ or ‘boxy’ sound. Selecting BIG mode results in a solid bottom end, enhanced sub-bass and a smoother, wider frequency response overall.
Sales Director, Ken Giles, commented: “The 1968 is a stripped down version of the 1969 and is aimed at those not requiring the instrument and mic-pre’s incorporated into the 1969. Its lower price point will bring the benefits of the Drawmer/Mercenary collaboration to a much wider market area.”
