Tartan Video adds DTS Digital Surround to all DVD releases

Tartan Video is to add DTS Digital Surround as a core component of its DVD releases.
With its wide catalogue of global and classic cinema, it plans to release more than 40 DVD titles with DTS during 2004.
To date, five Region 2 DVD-Video titles have been released: ‘Dark Water’ (Hideo Nakata, 2003), ‘Secretary’ (Steven Shainberg, 2003, starring James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal), ‘Belleville Rendezvous’ (Sylvain Chomet, 2003), ‘A Snake of June’ (Shinya Tsukamoto, 2003), and ‘Respiro’ (Emanuele Crialese, 2003). The release of Secretary in DTS was a special project that resulted in the Region 2 version being the only version globally to carry DTS.
Tartan recognises that consumers find DTS an attractive option and look for DTS titles, therefore the DTS logo is made very clearly visible on the front, back and spine of all their DVD releases.

As a result, we have been including 5.1 audio tracks on our discs for some time now. We are extremely pleased to be working closely with DTS, and to be releasing DVDs that contain such high quality 5.1 surround mixes as the DTS format delivers."
