BBC Library Sales and Index Stock Shots seal global deal

BBC Library Sales, a division of BBC Worldwide, and footage house Index Stock Shots have signed an agreement for BBC Library Sales to represent Index’s core collection of motion cinematography.
Under the agreement, BBC Library Sales is granted non-exclusive rights to distribute and license Index footage on a worldwide basis.
London-based Index Stock Shots offers a wide range of super 35mm footage shot specifically for the stock footage market. It includes shots of commercial aircraft, in the air and operating at major international airports, together with shots of many of the world’s major cities and locations – from New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco to London, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Index Stock Shots material has appeared in a number of television commercials on both sides of the Atlantic and the Far East. Stormy seas footage featured in European ads for car manufacturer Peugeot, as well as for financial services company Scottish Widows. In North America, the night skyline of Boston was included in ads for AOL and, in Japan, Nissan used Index ‘air-to-air’ footage of clouds.
In addition, Index Stock Shots is a prolific supplier of footage for feature films including Crocodile Dundee II, Johnny English, Sweet Home Alabama, Daredevil and trailers for Pirates of the Caribbean.
Index Founder and Chairman Gerry Weinbren said: “We believe this new relationship will be an important step forward in the development of Index, and our mission to make our footage available to more and more of the world's television producers, creatives and movie makers.”
BBC Library Sales Managing Director Simon Gibbs added: “Index’s collection complements the BBC’s broadcast archive and adds greatly to the range of material available from BBC Library Sales.”
