TELUS TV Service Breaks New Ground In Canada By Supporting 4K HDR

Canadian telecommunications company TELUS has launched 4K HDR on Optik TV, becoming the first TV/internet service provider in Canada to support the format.

4K HDR has the capability to display more than a billion colours for a more vivid, immersive picture than ever before. 4K HDR dramatically enhances the picture quality of existing 4K technology by improving the colour contrast range with millions of additional colour options to each individual pixel. On-screen colours appear richer and more precise while objects have more depth for an even more realistic, lifelike picture.

Optik TV currently offers a growing catalogue of 4K HDR-compatible titles via the On Demand button featured on the Optik TV remote. Netflix subscribers with Premium Accounts can also stream 4K HDR content through the built-in Netflix app on Optik TV.

In order to view 4K HDR content customers need a 4K HDR-capable TV, a TELUS 4K PVR and TELUS Internet 50 or higher.
