Robust, Professional Multi-Format Recorders

News Image
JVC's range of SR-HD professional recorders offer a flexible way to record, copy and transfer content between a variety of different media formats.

There are three models in the SR-HD range, from the entry level SR-HD1350EU, through to the top of the range SR-HD2700EU.

The SR-HD2700EU Blu-ray disc and HDD combo deck offers direct recording to DVD and Blu-ray from both HD/SD-SDI and HDMI sources. The SR-HD2700 records BDMV, BDAV, DVD-VR and DVD-Video discs directly, or from the internal high-capacity hard disk drive, ensuring compatibility with the widest range of players.

Designed to provide easy duplication and disc authoring of Blu-ray or DVD discs without a PC, the SR-HD2700EU's four recording formats allows for expanded compatibility with Blu-ray and DVD playback. A simple, menu-driven interface allows users to transfer video files to the internal hard drive, then assemble files into a completed project and output to disc. New upgrades include continuous long-time recording and the ability to upload MOV and MXF files from a PC.

With its HDMI and SDI inputs, the SR-HD2700 is compatible with most HD cameras, recorders, and production switchers. The SR-HD2700 features USB and i.Link (IEEE-1394) ports, SDXC card slot, and composite and S-Video inputs for compatibility with a variety of digital and legacy analog sources.

To avoid copyright and illegal distribution issues, the SR-HD2700EU can overlay text during recording. Plus, it can downconvert HD footage to SD to increase workflow efficiencies and discourage unauthorized distribution. Operators can also use SDI embedded time code or the built-in time stamp generated with the SR-HD2700's internal clock to produce on-screen time and date information.

Cameras providing USB 2.0, iLink or SDHC memory files may also be used. For clients who require content in standard definition, the SR-HD2700EU is capable of downscaling and burning standard definition DVDs even when input signals are HD. Multiple copies of Blu-ray or DVD discs are easily obtained with the built-in duplication function. From a practical point of view, a rack tray is available for the SR-HD range which allows easy installation in professional environments. The SR-HD2700EU is ideal for uses where a high quality recording is required, including in OB trucks for program recording, in edit suits to quickly create a Blu-ray copy for review, and also in a wide range of corporate, educational and institutional uses where the SR-HD can also be used as a controllable media source.
