Hamlet Enterprise VX3 Set For IBC

There is little doubt in anyone's mind that video production and transport over high capacity IP networks is here to stay. Also, that base bank and fibre are an intrinsic part of the infrastructure in many operational television broadcast areas.

The emergence of 10G/s to 100Gb/s network technology, COTS switching planes, standardisation of formats JPEG 2000, ASPEN, SMPTE 2020 and 2100 ensure this new transport mechanism will be with us for years to come. The requirement of service visibility tools has never been more prominent.

Based on the award-winning Hamlet Enterprise VX1 and VX2 technology we now launch the VX3. The fundamental capability and flexibility of the new VX3 has been established for years in its preceding siblings, but now comes with the addition of a new dual 10Gb/s interface to accommodate higher bitrate flows over IP networks, thus providing best of breed monitoring and verification.

The toolbox now available to choose from includes Dual IP, ASI input and output, RF, SFP, HS/SDI interfaces with deep IP stream packet interrogation quality of service to TR 101290, bitrate trending and graphing, monitoring of OTT manifest files and ABR chunks plus real time recording and playback of streams.

This "one-box" approach integrates the essential interfaces to analyse and troubleshoot the end to end service without the needs of clunky dongles and cables. The Enterprise VX2 is also VESA mountable to a fixed bracket or swing arm for desk mount or in-rack applications.

Conveniently, users can choose to check streams from IP and/or ASI only operation or include OTT, HD-SDI and/or RF input operation, SFP inputs, including record and playback – all in one compact, convenient enclosure. It is ideal for installation, studio equipment rooms, OB, mobile, cable, Multi Service Operators, broadcasters, satellite and terrestrial playout service and operations.

In addition to the new Hamlet Enterprise VX3, IBC will also see the launch of the new MSC-XDM modular SDI Routers which offer extremely high level flexibility with three base models enabling optimisation of operation and unit cost. Each unit is user expandable. Modular systems can be independently expanded by 8 input or 8 output modular I/O cards, allowing for asymmetrical matrix sizes.

Hamlet is well known for offering the very best value for money, support, service and advice. We ensure the end user has the best solution for the job and with new instruments to see during IBC stand 10.C51.
