Red Rock Entertainment Launch Short Film Writing Competition
Red Rock Entertainment has launched a short film competition, supporting young UK filmmakers and is offering them the opportunity to see their film become a reality.
The judging panel includes Roger Morris (MD Elstree Studios), Linda Robson (Birds of a Feather), Phillip Ilson, Director of the London Short Film Festival and shorts programmer for the BFI London Film Festival, award winning writer and director Stephen Cookson (My Angel, Eye Digress), and Red Rock Entertainment's Gary Collins.
The competition comes in conjunction with the Century Club, and aims to give some of the brightest young UK writers and directors the chance to land a £5,000 budget to make their film. Scripts will be judged by a panel of film industry experts who are looking for innovative and creative ideas which can be realised for £5,000 or less.
Gary Collins said: "We're delighted to run this competition which will help to support UK filmmaking talent. We're looking forward to seeing the entries and we're keen to back a great short film project with an innovative approach. Red Rock Entertainment supports investment in the UK film industry and we want to ensure young talent benefits from investment also."
The maximum length of the short script is 15 pages (for 15 minute duration).
Each short film script submission must also contain a budget breakdown. Supporting Vimeo links & MP4 formats of mood boards for visual and narrative influences are also accepted.
Deadline for script submissions 31st January 2016 at 18:00.
Five entries will be selected to pitch their project in front of a panel on the evening of Monday 22nd February 2016 at 7pm.
Submissions should be made to [email protected]
