New Thriller Commissioned For Ch4

A new four-part psychological thriller has been commissioned for Channel 4. The series, from World Productions, will be written by Tracey Malone (Silent Witness) and Kate Ashfield, a first-time TV writer.

Born to Kill (w/t) explores the mind of a teenage boy trying to suppress psychopathic desires, while falling in love for the first time. His family and community are unaware of what he is capable of.

Piers Wenger, Head of Drama, Channel 4, said: "Tracey and Kate reel you in to their gripping world and never let you go – this is edge of your seat drama. They have created two remarkably complex young characters that you hope will find love, but fear that their journey may take a darker turn. We are incredibly excited to have two such gifted writers leading this extraordinary piece of work."

Jake Lushington, Head of Drama, World Productions, added: "World is thrilled to be making such an ambitious, morally ambiguous piece that contains the power to seduce and shock in equal measure."

Written by Kate Ashfield and Tracey Malone, Born to Kill (w/t) will be executive produced by Jake Lushington for World Productions. Commissioned for Channel 4 by Piers Wenger and Beth Willis, the 4x60' series will go into production in 2016.
