Channel 4 Commissions Around The World In Eighty Weighs

News Image
Channel 4 has commissioned Around the World in Eighty Weighs.

Mothership Productions have been commissioned to make a 6x60 format exploring the global obesity crisis. This warm – but shocking - series will involve Brits who want to lose weight travelling the world to better understand the relationship between food, culture and body size, and in the process see if they can lose weight along the way.

Mothership was launched this summer by Kelly Webb-Lamb, Gilly Greenslade and Charlotte Desai. The trio have created, produced or commissioned numerous global formats including Bake Off, The Dog House, The Apprentice, Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds, Hunted and The Undateables.

The series has been commissioned by Alisa Pomeroy and Madonna Benjamin of the C4 documentaries department.
