Tiffen International Confirms Steadicam Gold UK Workshop

Tiffen International has announced a residential UK Steadicam Gold Workshop event to take place at Latimer Place near Chorleywood, Buckinghamshire, from Sunday 1 to Friday 6 November 2015.

Placements will be on a first come, first served basis and will be residential.

The five-and-a-half-day, intensive and fully submersive workshop will involve some of Steadicam's operators as instructors from the worlds of Motion Picture, TV/Broadcast, Drama, Sport and corporate films. They include:

• Peter Cavaciuti: Thor; Captain America; Skyfall; Alice in Wonderland; The Wolfman; Eyes Wide Shut.

• Peter Robertson: Edge of Tomorrow; Anna Karenina; Hanna; Quantum of Solace; Atonement; Hot Fuzz.

• Paul Edwards: Man From UNCLE; Before I Go To Sleep; 47 Ronin; Harry Potter (various); Run Fatboy Run; Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

• Roger Tooley: Penny Dreadful; Mortdecai; Inspector Lewis; Mr Selfridge; Green Zone; Shaun of the Dead.

Tiffen Lead Instructors/Co-Ordinators Robin Thwaites and Danny Hallett will also be present, with further announcements expected shortly.

There will be a maximum of 20 placements available to offer maximum benefit from the training.

Cost is inclusive of full board and lodging. The workshop fee is not negotiable without board/lodgings.

Robin Thwaites, Tiffen International sales director, said: "Along with professional approaches to blocking and choreography, we will also be using grip, rickshaws, vehicle mounting and hands-free equipment amongst other industry tools to hone and improve your skills as a Steadicam operator.

"This Gold Workshop will have an ever increasing technical approach to training, and will incorporate all of the advanced skills not generally covered on our Silver and Bronze Workshops. We would advise as usual that potential attendees have a reasonable basic understanding of Steadicam to get the most from the training, but instructors will be on hand for all levels of ability."
