               RTS Holds Irish Student Awards
 
                    
                    The Royal Television Society (RTS) ROI Centre held its annual Student Television Awards at RTÉ in Dublin last night. The Awards were presented by Adrian Lynch, Channel Controller of RTÉ One Television, and organised into four categories: Animation, Comedy & Entertainment, Drama and Factual.
The award in the Animation Category was presented to Rory Conway, Sammy Khalid, David Slattery and Kiera Noone from Irish School of Animation, Ballyfermot College of Further Education for 'Shoot'.
Film & Television Department, Ballyfermot College of Further Education student, Gary Christie took home the award in the Comedy & Entertainment Category for 'Your Silent Face', which explores the search for love on the Internet.
James Fitzgerald, Paddy Slattery & Team from National Film School, Institute of Art, Design & Technology, were presented with the award in the Drama Category for 'Skunky Dog', which explores alcoholism, bad language, sexually explicit content and violence in its representation of a young boy's lonely and pitiful life in a country town.
The award in the Factual Category went to National Film School, Institute of Art, Design & Technology students Oisín Bickley & Team for 'BÓ', which offers viewers an insight into the daily routine of dairy farming.
