skillsformedia returns to Production Show
Industry professionals will be given the chance to boost their career opportunities at this year’s Production Show thanks to the Skillset Learning Zone.
Skillset have joined forces with The Production Show to develop training and career development in 'The Learning Zone' section of the show.
The Skillset Learning Zone will offer: skillsformedia – the Skillset and BECTU owned and managed media careers service offering one-to-one careers advice sessions; information and advice on Skillset-funded training courses and Skillset Professional Qualifications; the skillsformedia free prize draw with the opportunity to win £500 towards a training course of your choice, free careers advice sessions and many other prizes; 10 per cent off the Skillset Career Handbook; industry training providers exhibiting in the Skillset Learning Zone to talk about courses available.
The show will take place between May 21-23 at Olympia, London. Skillset's Learning Zone was a massive success at the industry's biggest trade show in 2001 with all its career advice sessions sold out prior to the event.
Skillset will also be hosting a reception for runners/new entrants with senior industry figures talking about their lucky break and will be sponsoring the 'Talent Development Award' at the B+ Young Talent.
Dinah Caine, Chief Executive of Skillset, said: "The Production Show is a major trade show for our sector and as we’ve just become the first of the new government-licensed Sector Skills Councils we felt it was important to have an increased presence at the show to communicate what we do in the future."
Ilka Walkley, skillsformedia Manager, added: “skillsformedia was launched at last years show and in the past year we’ve become known as the place to go for professional media careers advice. At this year's show we decided to increase the number of advice sessions available so more people have the opportunity to take stock of their career and to hold the skillsformedia free prize draw to promote the service to show attendees.”
