Skillset board ring in Till as Deputy Chair

Stewart Till, President of Signpost Films, has joined the Skillset board as Deputy Chair.
Till, also Deputy Chair at the Film Council, will strengthen film industry representation on the Skillset board.
Clive Jones, Chief Executive of Carlton Channels/Joint Managing Director of ITV is Skillset Chair.
Till has been appointed to give a stronger voice to film on the Skillset board and ensure Skillset and Film Council policy mesh.
Skillset and the Film Council are currently working together, along with Scottish Screen, Sgrin - Media Agency for Wales and Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission, to carry out a major research project, which will inform the development of a new and comprehensive skills strategy for the UK film industry.
Clive Jones, Skillset Chair, said: "Since the Film Council's formation Skillset has worked closely with it to ensure that our training strategies are complementary. However, Stewart's appointment will ensure that the two organisations work ever more closely together and communicate clearly at board level in order to tackle skills issues throughout film. Stewart has vast experience of the industry and has worked closely with Skillset in the past, particularly on the Film Policy Review and Action Group which established the Skills Investment Fund, which Skillset manages, and informed the Film Council's training strategy."
Stewart Till, Deputy Chair of Skillset, commented: "I'm delighted to become Deputy Chair of Skillset and look forward to working closely with Clive and the rest of the board to ensure Skillset delivers comprehensive skills strategies across the audio visual industries. I have been a strong supporter of Skillset over the years and have always recognised the need for a strong strategic training body, particularly in an industry with such a large freelance workforce."
