RTE take part in environmental conference

Up to 200 Irish and international researchers, along with key figures in environmental policy development will attend a two-day environmental conference in Dublin on May 15 and 16.
'Pathways to a Sustainable Future - A Showcase of Environmental Research' will be held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin.
Eileen Duggan, RTÉ, will participate in the Panel Session on Cleaner Greener Production May 16.
Ms Duggan’s presentation, 'Review of Resources Management in RTÉ', will outline how the national broadcaster is to introduce improved ways of managing waste produced at RTÉ.
Speaking prior to the conference, Duggan said: “In recent years RTÉ carried out several measures aimed at improving waste management, however the organisation has now undertaken a project under the EPA’s Cleaner Greener Production Programme, which will build on the past work. The project aims to generate detailed technical and statistical information, which will be used to continue implementation of improved waste management measures. RTÉ envisages being able to reduce waste production, develop better ways of managing what is produced and raise awareness of the environment amongst the staff of RTÉ.”
The Pathways conference aims to bring together the best of current environmental research in Ireland with one common objective - the provision of a better environment.
