Ray Dolby Accepts Berlinale Camera Award

At the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival a well known engineer and inventor has been honoured with a coveted Berlinale Camera award.
Ray Dolby has been recognised during the festival as as one of the most important engineers and inventors in the film industry.
At a special presentation in the German capital, the Founder and Director Emeritus of Dolby Laboratories accepted the coveted award n front of an audience of invited guests.
Festival Director Dieter Kosslick handed over the award to Ray Dolby, thanking him for his work in revolutionizing sound in cinema and raising the bar for the entertainment experience everywhere.
Dolby is the inventor of the noise reduction system known as Dolby NR. He was also a co-inventor of video tape recording while at Ampex. He is the founder of Dolby Laboratories.
Each year, the Berlin International Film Festival presents the Berlinale Camera to a small number film personalities or institutions to which it feels particularly indebted and wishes to express its thanks.
