NATPE 2012 Posts Year-Over-Year Gains In Key Categories

NATPE, the premier video content marketplace, drew greater numbers in key categories during the 2012 market and conference at Miami's Fontainebleau Resort January 23 to 25, NATPE President and CEO Rick Feldman announced.
"These figures confirm NATPE’s expanding reach and significance, and the strength of the global content marketplace overall," said Feldman. "We are gratified to see this terrific response from the content community, and proud to create an environment that both serves and drives this business. We're also grateful for the feedback from attendees that help us to make NATPE better and better."
NATPE 2012 experienced year-over-year gains in the key attendee categories. Final numbers show that a total of 5,122 top media executives from 70 countries attended. The number of both exhibitors and buyers grew as well: 293 global exhibiting companies were represented, and 823 content buyers and acquisition executives were on hand as well. The conference program included 262 influential speakers in 67 sessions, special events and networking opportunities.
In addition, NATPE 2012's conference sessions drew incredible live streaming numbers. Over three days, online viewers watched the panels via 1,029,697 streams, representing a phenomenal 111-percent increase over 2011. Once again, sessions focusing on digital content proved to be the most popular, including From Concept to Revenue: Building a Business Through Digital Media, viewed via 95,912 streams; Jump In! Augmented Reality and Storytelling, which received 77,023 streams; Big Screen Little Screen: What’s to Come in 2012, which brought in viewers over 66,842 streams; Information Reformation: The New Frontier of Local News, which took 56,002 streams, and YouTube Royalty, which claimed 48,050 streams.
NATPE||Content First is a global, nonprofit organization committed to serving as a catalyst for the content revolution, operating and managing the only U.S.-based global content marketplace. Held at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach, NATPE provides a first look at fresh content and gives industry leaders a jump-start on monetizing projects. NATPE 2012 thanks the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA) for its support. NATPE||Miami 2013 will be held January 28-30 at the Fontainebleau Resort. After 15 years of operating independently, DISCOP East was acquired by NATPE as part of a continued strategy for expansion within the international arena. The market has now become NATPE||BUDAPEST and will take place June 26-28, 2012.
