War Horse Nominated For A BAFTA

Framestore’s feature film visual effects have once again received attention from BAFTA in the form of a ‘Special Visual Effects’ nomination, this time for work on Spielberg’s War Horse.
This BAFTA nomination comes hot on the heels of Framestore’s 3 VES nominations, including one for War Horse.
About The Visual Effects
As the sole provider of visual effects for the film, Framestore’s visual effects team, led by Ben Morris, Mike Mulholland, Chris Zeh and Duncan Burbidge delivered over 200 shots.
This included adding a mess of barbed wire and other painful detritus to the heroic horse to make scenes even more powerful and emotive. The team also created entirely CG horses for a few select shots that were so convincing that even Spielberg himself could not separate them from the live action animals.
This 2011 nomination follows last year’s BAFTA nomination for Christian Manz’s visual effects work on 2010’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
