Network Electronics supply technology to Bolschoi Theatre

Network Electronics have been slated to supply the transmission systems for the technical infrastructure of the historic Bolschoi Theatre located in Moscow.
The Theatre is currently undergoing a complete renovation valued at approximately $500,000 to preserve its grandeur for future generations yet provide a state-of-the-art technical infrastructure for broadcast productions. The work is expected to be completed next year.
ProVideo, a systems integrator located in Berlin, are designing all the technical television and satellite facilities of the building. The transmission system will be comprised of a combination of coax and optical fiber solutions. All routing, optical fiber systems and format conversion will be accomplished via Network Electronics’s flashlink (optical) and VikinX (routing) products.
“Network Electronics provides the ideal complement of equipment for customers that wish to combine routers with optical transmission solution,” said Bernd Berhrendt, ProVideo’s Chief Planner of the Bolschoi theatre.
Network Electronics’ attractive price and high level of performance were also strong factors in the decision, Mr Berhrendt said.
Other main suppliers for the Bolschoi Theatre include Panasonic Broadcast, Thomson and Sony. The historic theatre, established in 1776, is one of the most famous cultural buildings in the world. It has been home to some of the most notorious events including Operas Gelinka, Mozart, Bizet, and Rossini.
Network Electronics serves the broadcast, telco and multimedia industries with an innovative range of optical, routing and conversion products featuring a three-year depot warranty, short delivery time, advanced replacement service and large inventory.
Established in 1996, Network is a leader in router technology with over 50,000 routers installed worldwide.
