Maverick TV Secure CBBC Commission
London based production company, Maverick TV, has bagged a CBBC commission, which it claims will do for health what the programme Horrible Histories did for history.
The producers behind Channel 4 hit Embarrassing Bodies are to make what is believed to be the BBC's first factual series about biology and medicine aimed at children.
The as-yet-untitled show will look at how bodies work and include visits to hospitals, explaining what goes on in them and who does what.
Maverick Television creative director Alex Fraser said: "Maverick has always been passionate about health; just as a sense of humour is part of the uniform for hospital staff, we hope to bring a lightness of touch to the subjects of biology and medicine, informing and entertaining children about their health."
