Studio AKA Unveil Latest Project

Directors at Studio AKA have produced six short films that are aimed at raising awareness and preventing teenagers from trying Methamphetamine.
Four Studio AKA Directors all took on the creation of Six films for the project by concentrating on personal stories by users. Uncompromising & uncomfortable to watch, each of the films has its own style, reflecting the personal recollections of addicts. In addition to these thought-provoking films, there are a series of stand alone Illustrations to accompany other stories of addiction.
AKA is a London-based multi-BAFTA-winning animation production company know internationally for innovative work.
Talking about keeping up with technology the studio claim that "challenges will always be there as imagination is limitless in that respect".
They said: "We are a small studio without any formal R&D departmental structure – but this informality also allows for the studios core TD's to really connect and explore new ways of solving problems in a very organic way. Like anyone we read the magazines, go to the forums, watch TV and talk endlessly about our subject among our peers and ourselves."
Meanwhile in terms of the software the company uses they said:"We always start with imagination & hands ... plus pencils, paper, Photoshop, and we utilize Flash, Autodesk XSI, Adobe After Effects and Avid in the creation of our work."
The production company has worked on well known add campaigns for Lloyds TSB, The National Lottery as well as the TV adaption of Oliver Jeffer’s picture book Lost and Found.
