Spectrecom Films Acquires Kennington Studio Space
Production company Spectrecom Films has acquired new studio space at Kennington in London.
The company intends to put its new 3,550 sq ft (74' x 48') main studio up for hire. The studio was originally built by Cactus TV for Channel 4's Richard and Judy, which began broadcasting in November 2001. It later hosted Saturday Kitchen and the New Paul O'Grady Show, but in 2012 the studio was closed and stripped of all its live broadcast TV equipment.
Spectrecom Films creates content for clients such as Tilda, RSPCA, BMW, Stella Artois, Barclays, Guinness and American Express.
The new studio at Kennington is capable of hosting a seated audience and will be aimed at pre-recorded TV studio-based shows.
A new lighting grid has been installed and hospitality suites and kitchens have been refurbished.
"With the recent closures of Riverside, Television Centre, Teddington and Wimbledon Studios, the new addition of Spectrecoms' studios at Kennington will restore a small but badly needed slice of studio space to central London," a statement said.
