A growing Manchester based independent producer is striding into the final quarter of 2011 with a re-commission from the Crime & Investigation Network and the History Channel to produce the 3rd season of the 6 x 60 series – Crimes That Shook Britain.
The award nominated Crimes That Shook Britain brand has proved popular both in the UK and worldwide having been broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide through Title Roles’ distribution deal with Warner Bros.
The new series includes high profile crimes that have made British history including the Crossbow Cannibal, the Omagh Bombing and Victoria Climbie.
Helen Tonge, Managing Director at Title Role commented: "Crimes That Shook Britain has become a returning series due to constantly maintaining editorial excellence but also due to our skill and capability in producing compelling factual programming whilst sensitively managing and respecting the stories of the contributors, this third series will be no different."
In a further move to expand its factual entertainment formats and features department the company has also secured the services of Paul Darling as Head of Development.
Darling comes with solid credentials with past credits including stints as the Head of Development, Entertainment for ITV Productions, Development Executive and Senior Development Producer for the BBC and various development roles at indies such as Lion Eyes TV in Manchester and RTE in Ireland.
Darling said of his new role: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team at Title Role. It’s an intelligent company with an impressive back catalogue of well-made shows with genuine substance. I look forward to working with them to develop more smart, content-rich shows."
Title Role Productions is made up of a team of former BBC and ITV producers who specialise in Factual and Entertainment series. The company was founded by Ian Bradshaw and Helen Tonge in 2005.
