Title Role Lands Commission To Bridge The World
UK indie Title Role Productions has announced its latest commission from History to produce a one-hour documentary special entitled How Britain Bridges The World.
Ordered by Co-Production & Acquisitions Manager for History, Rachel Job, the film explores how pioneering British engineers and architects created and produced brilliant feats that went on to influence bridge building the world over.
How Britain Bridges The World was produced and directed by Miriam Lyons. The show features stunning HD footage of the Skye Bridge in Scotland, Millennium Bridge in Gateshead, the Milau Viaduct in France and the Millennium Bridge in London and is due to TX in January 2011.
Prolific contributors to the programme include world-renowned experts Lord Norman Foster, Keith Brownlie, the multi-award winning architect from Wilkinson Eyre and Michel Virlogeux, one of the greatest living French structural engineers.
Distributor Electric Sky has invested deficit funds in the project and acquired worldwide distribution rights.
Helen Tonge, Managing Director of Title Role, commented: "Working on this project with History marks Title Role's move into specialist factual and this has been such an awe inspiring subject to bring to life. I am confident that Miriam and the team have produced a first-rate programme that we are exceptionally proud of."
Miriam Lyons was voted Broadcast Hot Shot Director in 2008. This latest commission from History joins the recent re-commission for a second series of Title Role's popular Crimes That Shook Britain for Crime & Investigation Network.
The series is currently in production with episodes featuring the London Nail Bomber, young shooting victim Rhys Jones and TV presenter Jill Dando.
